(yawns) Its been too long since I woke up this early. Darn insomnia.
Anyways, happy first day of spring everyone. Things are looking good for me. My dad ordered Chinese and we watched the original Beauty and The Beast so mom could compare it to the newer version that released last weekend. My fortune cookie last night read "An enjoyable vacation is awaiting you very soon", and I'd say it is right. My little brother studying in Utah is coming home for his summer break, and with so many movies and cartoons airing over the next few months, its gonna be great.
I've been referring to 2017 as the Year of Nostalgia, since so many classics are making a comeback. Beauty and The Beast, Samurai Jack, Ducktales, Power Rangers, etc. All of these (except Jack) were a part of my childhood (about 20+ years ago), and I've been re-watching the originals for further hype. I still have several Power Ranger toys from my childhood (missing various pieces because mom feared I might take 'em off an swallow them). Oddly enough, my youngest brother has voiced interest in seeing the Power Rangers movie, which really surprised me. He has never taken interest in any of the generations/groups of the show, so this coming Friday may be another chance for us to hang out.
In gaming, Bordelands 2 is now free to download for X-Box Gold members. I loved that game and the craziness involved. Handsome Jack is an easy villain to grow to hate, and all of the DLC expansions are entertaining. One of my favorite characters is Mister Torgue High-Five Flexington, voiced by Chris Rager. One of my favorite quotes from the guy is "NOTHING IS MORE BADASS THAN TREATING A WOMAN WITH RESPECT!" I tell ya, you can't help but grin when he talks, especially when his attempts at swearing are censored out. His shareholders had him add a digital censor beep to his own voice-box because he swears a lot (not like that is a rare thing in this game).
I've got a few other things happening, but I won't say anything until it happens. Until then, I gotta go water a few new jasmine plants. I absolutely love that smell.
